I'm glad you were able to pick up the fruitcake fruit. If your experience is like mine, the fruit will be perfectly good condition for at least a year. Mine didn't begin to dry out until it was a couple of years old, but is still fine after rehydration.Lilihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13292553654219380455noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4055690688282230469.post-41985073385567658342020-02-14T09:22:14.536-08:002020-02-14T09:22:14.536-08:00Hi Kris,

Use the red for Valentines Day and green for St. Patrick's day. I am picking up so many frugal tips from you on this blog. The biggest tip thus far is planning for future events to take most advantage of frugal finds.
*** I recently purchased deeply discounted candied fruit for fruit cake, it is tucked away in my freezer, and if needed I can refer to one of your osts for refreshing/dehydrating the candied fruit. - Robin
RobinWrobhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12089184897920249345noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4055690688282230469.post-88524109245816200682020-02-13T05:32:43.366-08:002020-02-13T05:32:43.366-08:00You make every day a celebration! :)
I was think...You make every day a celebration! :)

I was thinking along Alice's brain wave--I would probably put the candy in some sort of baked good, especially if it was color coordinated for the season. It's gratifying when you make a small twist to a standard recipe and it's a big hit. Glad you could do that for your family!Krisnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4055690688282230469.post-21507414132854833702020-02-13T04:37:29.248-08:002020-02-13T04:37:29.248-08:00Did you eat the green ones?

I had kisses and rollos with the caramel inside. I chopped them up and put them in place of chocolate chips in these bars. It was a big hit! Oh, and this was for Christmas 2018 candy. I did NOT put out any candy for Christmas 2019 believe it or not!

AliceAlicehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12660543650879805736noreply@blogger.com
