I've been away for a week

We drove in late last night, through pouring rain and, at points, zero visibility. It was exhausting! But we made it home, safe and sound. I had a homemade pizza waiting for us in the freezer, to quickly heat for a late dinner. I'll give more details on our trip in another post. Today I have to catch up on absolutely everything!! Including reading other blogs, your always helpful comments, a ton of laundry, baking bread and getting my 2 daughters set for Welcome Week at their university. I may be a tad busy this week.

I hope your week is off to a great start!

    1. Hi live and learn,
isn't that the truth?! I'm up to my neck in catch-up work, harvesting the summer garden, and getting the last things taken care of for my daughters' classes/welcome week. Thanks for the good wishes!

    1. Hi Liz,
We did have a great time. Most importantly, we all reconnected. My kids just think its about having a fun time, but I stand back and watch everyone as they interact, and I spend time listening between the lines to see where everyone is, these days. It was a very good time. I'll write more about it later.

  4. Oh man! Driving in weather like that is so stressful! Glad it all worked out. Enjoy the week with your daughters!

    1. Hi Katie,
the 3 drivers in the family took turns at the wheel. I can tell you, at the end of my shift, my fingernails were dug into the steering wheel, I was gripping it so tightly. Stressful, indeed. But we made it home, and were so grateful that we weren't involved in the handful of accidents we saw along the interstate. Thanks for the good wishes!
