Hand-drawn gift tags, by my daughter

You can buy a package of gift tags at the store, or . . .

and

My daughter drew these for two gifts, that she was giving to a couple of young girls who helped their mother, at the fundraiser luncheon, where we worked on Saturday.

I thought these were beautiful in their simplicity, and wanted to share, in case you needed gift tags this week, but wanted something more decorative than a plain piece of paper, without rushing out to the store. The snowflake, line and color design is simple enough to follow, or improvise your own snowflake. Black ink pen, colored pencils or pens, and heavy-weight paper, like card stock or drawing/watercolor paper.

Have a great day! Be back tomorrow.

  1. How pretty....how creative! I am definitely going to be using this tip. I can also see using white wrapping paper and doing the same type of drawing in the center instead of a bow or other decoration. I love receiving handcrafted gifts or wrapped gifts. It feels like the person gifting me is also giving me a little bit of themselves....how wonderful! Merry Christmas, Lili....and all your readers! Wishing you a wonderful and blessed 2017!

    1. Hi Linda,
I will pass on the compliment. I feel the same way about hand-crafted gifts or hand-made gift wrap. It's so much more personal.

I love the idea to use plain white paper and draw a line design in the center, in place of a bow. Grace's snowflakes have the look of those very popular adult coloring books, I thought. So I can really see this carried out on packages.

Merry Christmas, Linda! And blessings in the new year, to you, too!

I really love this kind of thing. I hope you are enjoying
the last little bit before Christmas. It is feeling a lot like Christmas here.It is in the 30's this morning.
We came home with a tray 2 boxes of cookies and 3 pieces of cheesecake(very sweet of the hostess) We won't won't need to do any baking unless we want too.
    Have a wonderful day.

    1. Hi Patti,
I will pass the compliment on to Grace. I love this sort of thing, too. just so personal and makes me feel special to the gifter.
This is to be my "real" Christmas week. All of the previous weeks have been so busy, that I decided this should be the week that I spend time focusing on the meaning of Christmas, and sharing that with my family and friends. So, yes, I am enjoying this last bit before Christmas!!

Oh, how very lovely of your hostess! You are blessed! And I'm glad that the weather is now beginning to feel a bit more like Christmas, for you. It's hard to listen to songs like White Christmas, when it's 80 degrees outside!

      Have a lovely day, Patti!

  4. Very pretty, great idea!
I have a tag shaped paper punch that I make quick tags with. The snowflake design would be nice on a blank white tag--I'm going to remember that!

  5. Great idea to hand draw a snowflake pattern as a gift tag design. The symmetry makes for drawing ease and design success!! Thank you, and tell your daughter that she did an excellent job, and this is something you'd expect to read as a DIY project article in a magazine!!

    Have a nice evening!!

  6. She made it look so easy. But if I had had a blank piece of paper and nothing to copy, I don't think I would have come up with something so lovely. I think maybe your daughter is taking after you and your talent to make things looks nice.

    1. Hi live and learn,
Grace's major is illustration. She has a good eye for making things look beautiful, and she has the ability to execute an idea from her mind to the paper or canvas.

What I love about this idea is that it is simple enough for someone else to copy and have a good result. That's how most of us add beauty to our lives -- see something we like and copy it. And that works!

Have a great day, live and learn!
