I Haven't Really Looked Around Much Lately

I've had my head in projects, taxes, and problems so much so that lately, I just haven't noticed all of the beautiful stuff happening in the garden. I was outside for an hour yesterday afternoon, and this is just a sampling of what I saw.

The tulips look fabulous. I counted 50 blooms on this patch!

Not only is the cherry tree full of blossoms, but there were so many bees in it yesterday.

Springtime flowers looking amazing after so much gloom of winter, here.

A year ago, I bought a bunch of primrose plants that were way past their prime, on clearance. A Year later, they look terrific!

The violets are everywhere.  I'll be adding some to the top of a cake that I'm making this week. They're edible, but this variety has no flavor.

I have so much rhubarb. I need to get busy with the pies and crisps, again!

I hope you had a lovely Easter. It's late and I need sleep. I'll give you the details of our Easter, tomorrow. Have a great day!

  1. Your flowers are gorgeous! Our spring flowers have pretty much ended here but the poppies are starting to bloom and I noticed blooms about to open on the coreopsis and Indian blanket. My cherry trees haven't blossomed yet--weird, because the peaches did several weeks ago and now have peaches growing! Hope you get some needed rest!

    1. Hi Cat,
You're in a much warmer part of the country. I think of coreopsis and Indian blanket as "summer" flowers, here. But then again, it's almost May. Peaches! That's wonderful. Do your cherry trees have leaves, yet? Could it be an off year for blossoms? Some of our fruit trees get into every-other-year blossoming patterns. Enjoy the day, Cat!

  2. It's fun to see what blooms around the country (the world??) at different times. You are enjoying such lush green-ness! Some previous homeowner at our house planted primroses and I love them--they faithfully return every year without any work on my part!

We had a nice Easter and I hope you did, as well. Good to "see" you back.

    1. Hi Kris,
I love seeing what's in bloom elsewhere, too. Oh yes, with all the rain that we've had, a lot of green-ness, here. You can divide primroses, too, if yours get really large and you'd like to have some elsewhere in the yard.
      Have a great day, Kris!
