I've run into a kinda busy streak . . .

. . . so I'm taking a few days off. When I mentioned I had been kinda busy to my son last night, he said that was a bit of an understatement. I'll spend this week catching up on some things that I've let slip (like getting the taxes done, yikes!), and be back next week.

Wishing you a lovely Easter!

  1. This isn't the first time that you son has told you to slow down, is it? He gives very good advice. I hope you can get enough done that you also have time to do something fun. Or even better, just take time. Happy Easter to you and your family.

  2. With tax deadline and Easter Sunday happening in the same week, it is wise to let go of blog posting, and other commitments as much as you can. I was talking to my daughter yesterday, and she is beyond exhausted with her two jobs, and has little time for her family and much less for taking care of her health. I admonished her not to do that, that it isn't worth it to postpone a surgery that she needs, from a year ago, because of work demands. I've been consumed with trying to figure a solution, and the only thing I can think of is to suggest that they move to a lower cost of living state. I've shown her YouTube videos on homesteading, a lifestyle that is based on self reliance and lowering your needs from the economy (expenses). She likes the idea a lot, so I'm glad I got the wheels turning. I've also been stressing frugality as an important step in preparing for that lifestyle. Like many, her thoughts are to grow the pie, not cut the slices thinner, as a way to live within her means.

Hope you have a good week and can find some time for yourself too. Happy Easter!!

  3. Hi Lili,
I follow you every day. You are my morning reward to read after getting life's business done.
I admire your writing style( are you a quick typist?) and inclusion of photos. You seem to be a well organized, detail oriented person:)
Your son knows you well and you listen and take his counsel. Hence the email to us this week.
We can have it all, just not all at the same time:)
Happy Easter to you and your family. We will be here when you return, eagerly looking forward to economical posts on Easter and taxes?
I am looking forward to decorating and hosting an Easter dinner. Possibly Saturday evening as it allows individuals who work Monday to relax.
I have set up quite a schedule of cooking. Particular food and meals as many of my participants live alone or have compromised economic situations.
I'm trying to view this time of preparation as a gift to them so not stressing myself out in the production and having the wisdom to know when an activity is worth or not worth the effort.
So many of us reading your blog are of a"certain" age and similar family structures. Know I'll be thinking of you as I move through my week with frugality in my celebration.
    Blessings. Happy Easter!! Teresa

  5. Thanks, all. I'm going to try and get through as much stuff as I can in this week. I even hope to get the garden started, weather permitting. Have a wonderful week!
