Holiday Earrings

This is a new pattern that I've been working on. I like these as earrings for their size.

This the Christmas tree pattern that I really liked. However, it was too big for earrings. I tried, unsuccessfully, to make this pattern smaller, and I just could not do it. I do like the pattern and may use this in other applications, for instance, making charms to attach to homemade gift tags.

Anyway, wire wrapping is a jewelry-making technique that is learnable by the novice. And results in pretty nice pieces of jewelry for just a small outlay.

  1. You are really having fun with the earrings and getting quite good at it. A suggestion for later. I have made various kinds of earrings before and always had a hit with ones for Christmas. When everything was on clearance at the end of the season, I bought the tiny ornaments they had for small trees. I put those on earring findings and had very inexpensive earrings. A tip. Look for ones that have a pattern on both sides or that can be put together back to back. While the one-sided ones are still fun, two sided ones are better.

  2. Would the bigger one work as a necklace?

  3. Hi live and learn,

Thank you for that great tip. I'll keep that in mind at post-holiday sales!
Yes, I am enjoying making these. For me, it's very satisfying to take a length of wire and transform it into a shape of some sort.
    Thanks for your comment!

    Hi Frugal in the USA,
the bigger one absolutely would work on a necklace. Thank you!
