My coffee grinder has not seen coffee beans in a while. But it does get a lot of use. I use it for flax seeds, dried herbs from the garden, bread crumbs, and my daughter used it the other night on raw, brown rice for making horchata (a cinnamon rice milk).
The coffee grinder works better on hard and dry ingredients like rice, flax seeds and dried herbs (rosemary especially), than my large food processor. I also like to use it for bread crumbs, as it's small (just the right size for one slice of bread), and easy to clean (just wipe out with a dry rag).
