Kept it covered with a tea towel. It's very gloppy and stringy. But this is desirable, what a good starter should look like. It smells faintly fermented, also a good thing.
Tomorrow I'll be able to use 2 cups (475 mL) of the starter in a batch of sourdough pancakes. Yum! Will update you on pancake-making tomorrow.
