using what I have on hand to make a tin full of treats for Valentine's Day
mini pretzels, semi-sweet chocolate chips, and pink and red Wilton's Candy Melts
I think they even look a little like hearts.

Chocolate covered pretzels. Who doesn't love those? And so pretty, too. You are so thoughtful.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Live and Learn. Chocolate covered pretzels are a favorite treat in my family.
DeleteI think chocolate covered pretzels are my favorite treat. The sweet and salty is the right combination. After work today, I'm going to check out my pretzel stash! Thanks for the idea!
ReplyDeleteHi Ruthie,
DeleteI think that's it -- the sweet and salty together. You're welcome!
They do look like little hearts! Cute idea. Which reminds me, I need to get cookie dough ready for baking and decorating with Valentine colors tonight. I almost forgot--oops.
ReplyDeleteHi Kris,
DeleteHow did cookie-baking go? My mom always made heart-shaped sugar cookies for Valentine's Day -- good memories. I bet your family will really enjoy the cookie decorating.
I may have a bag of pretzels in my freezer that might be stale. Is there a way to freshen them up to be edible? I do like the chocolate covered pretzels from the store but they aren't good for me! But to make my family a little treat might be a nice idea!
ReplyDeleteHi Alice,
DeleteI know you can put stale crackers in a barely warm oven to crisp them up, if by stale you mean not crisp. So that may work for the pretzels, too. Good luck!
I dove deep down in my deep freezer and found those pretzels! I had double bagged them and they are as fresh as the day I bought them so I won't need to crisp them up! I found some rolos from Christmas and cut them in half and made the round pretzels with 1/2 a rollo popped in the oven then I sprinkled on those little balls (nonpariels?) I made about 18 of them and that will be my Valentine's treat for my daughter.
DeleteThose sound really nice, Alice! I think your daughter will really enjoy them.
